Depart Manila (MNL) via Beijing (PEK) for Ulaanbaatar (ULN). Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. We’ll be greeted at the airport and escorted to our hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Kharkhorin. Along the way, we will explore Mongol sand dunes with an option to experience Camel Riding. Upon arrival in Kharkhorin, visit the Kharkhorin Museum. Enjoy the Mongolian traditional meal “Horhog”. Overnight in Ger Camp with private bathroom.
This morning, visit Erdene-Zuu, a monastery with 108 stupas. “Erdene-Zuu” is the first Mongolian Buddhist monastery built in 1586 by the order of Abtai Sain Khan. Explore the ruins of this great Mongolian Capital City. After lunch, drive to Hustai National Park. See Takhi, the Asian wild horse (Przevalsky breed). Then proceed to the Mongol Nomadic Tourist Camp (with private bathroom) for rest and overnight.
After breakfast, watch and experience a demonstration of everyday life of a traditional Mongolian family. Witness the breeding of five kinds of livestock and their travel from one place to another using the ox, yak, camel and horse carts. See how they make dairy products and taste test some. Watch a demonstration of milking yaks and mare, fastening and milking of sheep and goats, as well as felt tanning. Then drive back to Ulaanbaatar. And see Shijiamoni Buddhism Park and Zaisan Hill. The huge monument on the top of the hill was created as a memorial to the soldiers who died in World War II. This hill will give you the best panoramic view of Ulaanbaatar and its surrounding sacred mountains. In here, also sits a 23 meter tall statue of Buddha. In the evening, we put our hands together for Tumen Ekh. A national ensemble of Mongolian traditional songs and musical instruments, such as Morin Khuur, throat singing and many more.
After breakfast, proceed to the central square of Ulaanbaatar, Chinggis Square. See the Parliament House, National Museum of Mongolia and the Gandan Monastery where we will see the huge gold plated Buddha - a symbol of Mongolian national pride and cultural revival. After lunch, drive to the “Gorkhi-Terelj” National Park and marvel at the ‘Three Friends Cave’ and Turtle Rock. Cap this day with a visit to a Mongolian nomadic family. Overnight in a Ger Camp with private bathroom.
Today we drive to the 13th Century Park, and explore various ger camps, farms, statues and traditional entertainment areas all in real lifestyle of the 13th century era. In this place, rule of law is strong. There is no electricity and telephones are not allowed, for one to experience how it was back then. Enjoy craftsmen at work, see Mongolian calligraphy, learn to write Mongolian traditional scripts, ride horses and camels or simply sit back and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the countryside and the clear blue sky. After lunch, proceed to the impressive 45m tall Giant Genghis Khaan Statue, before traveling back to our hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
Visit Bogd Khan Palace, a series of beautiful traditional buildings, where the last religious King of Mongolia resided. After lunch, there is time to do some shopping at the State Department Store and Cashmere World. Back to hotel for overnight.
