Journey begins from Yangon, the gateway to Myanmar
Travel to Bagan and discover the magic of more than 2,000 ancient temples, stupas and pagodas.
Proceed to Lake Inle to discover its floating gardens, floating markets and famous leg rowers of the area. Drive to Nyaung Shwe to explore the culture and lifestyle of the southern Shan State area. Visit the local production house of lotus treads and weaving for its finest, soft scarves and shawls.
Return to Yangon to discover the enthralling old colonial buildings, bustling markets, restful parks and tranquil lakes.
Fly to Mandalay and proceed to Amarapura. Observe the traditional silk weaving cottage industries at Thein Nyo. Enjoy the beautiful sunset at U Bein Bridge. Proceed to Mandalay for overnight.
Highlights include local Jade market, Kuthodaw Pagoda, the Mahamuni Pagoda, the Golden Palace (Shwe Kyaung) monastery and the one-of-a-kind Teak monastery. Go on top of Mandalay Hill for another beautiful sunset.
Fly to Bagan and proceed to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano and an oasis in the dry zone of central Myanmar. Observe the traditional production of palm sugar and visit Nyaung Oo Market. See the local lacquer ware works.
Early morning Hot Air Balloon Ride (Optional). Sightseeing around the great plains of Bagan including the Ananda Temple, the Thatbyinnyu, Ngakywe Nadaung Pagoda, Pahto Thamya Temple, Nat HLaung Kyung Temple, andHtilo Minlo Temple. Linger in the vicinity of one of Bagan’s ancient monuments Shwe Shandaw and experience thehorse cart ride towards the evening.
Fly to Heho to the old capital of Shan State, Nyaung Shwe and visit the Red Mountain Estate Vineyards and Winery on the way. Continue by boat to the Lake Inle for overnight.
Explore the In-Dein Pagoda complex of hundreds of Shan Style stupas dating back to the 16th century. Highlights of excursion for the day also include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Impawkhon, blacksmith, cheroot making and other traditional handicrafts workshops at Nan Pan Village; and the famous “Intha Heritage House” which belongs to Burmese Cats.
At leisure until transfer to Nyaung Shwe by boat and continue to Heho Airport for flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and visit the sprawling Bogyoke Aung San Market (SCOTT Market) with its abundance of stalls selling gems & jewellery, lacquerware, wood carvings, silverware, paintings & other handicraft. See the national heritage and colonial architectures of downtown Yangon; the two – story museum of General Aung San, which exhibits General Aung San’s life story. Finally, the glittering Shwedagon Pagoda with its amazing mix of pavilions, stupas, images and bells.
After breakfast, check – out and transfer to the airport for onward flight. It’s a jubilant, “Mabuhay” as we reach our beloved homeland to share photos and stories with our love ones. We bid, “Hanggang sa Muli” to our new found friends… Till we meet again, on our next travel bounty!
