DAY 01 NOV 13 ARRIVE TANZANIA

Welcome to Tanzania! Our guide will meet you upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport and take you straight to your first hotel in Tanzania. Tomorrow morning will be an early start for your first Tanzania safari experience, so use your first day to recuperate from a day of travel and soak up the sights and sounds of Africa. Overnight at your hotel.

DAY 02 NOV 14 ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After a safari briefing in the morning and an approximate 2 hour drive you will arrive at the Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. This park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of your safari vehicle you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. In the late afternoon you will leave the park and drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 03 NOV 15 TARANGIRE AREA - LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will travel from the Tarangire Area to the Lake Manyara National Park. The park is known for its over 400 bird species, primate-filled forests and grassy plains. A large area of the park is covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara, the seasonal breeding grounds for large colonies of flamingos and many more waterfowls. The park is also home to giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. After an extensive game drive, you will travel to your accommodation where you will have dinner and spend the night.

DAY 04 NOV 16 DEPART FOR SERENGETI

After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. Dinner and overnight at your chosen accommodation.

DAY 05 NOV 17 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Early morning breakfast and depart the park for a full day game drive with picnic lunch. The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and these include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. You will spend another night at your chosen accommodation.

DAY 06 NOV 18 SERENGETI - NGORONGORO

Have a relaxed breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro crater with en-route game drive and picnic lunch. As early as 09:30 you will descend over 600 meters high walls into the crater floor for a wonderful game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is referred by many as the 8th natural wonder of the world; the crater was formed some 3 million years ago due to some internal forces under the earth’s crust. It is a Caldera but mistakenly is called a Crater, supported by a yearly round of water supply & fodder, Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a big number of animal species, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, topi, eland, hippos, warthog & the giant African elephant. Another big draw card to this unique Crater is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs & the ever- mysterious leopard, which sometimes need a sharp eye to spot. You will drive to Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline Lake in the southwestern corner, occasionally visited by flamingos, hippos & many aquatic birds. Late afternoon drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07 NOV 19 KARATU - ARUSHA

After a leisurely breakfast, you will travel back to Arusha for hot lunch at a local restaurant. A brief city tour follows before waving good bye to your guide. Free time and dinner on your own tonight.
