We commence our Kyushu adventure with a visit to Nagasaki Peace Park. This is a park which holds a number of monuments from all over the world, including the Peace Monument for the souls of the bomb victims. It also leads to the ground zero of the bomb and the Atomic Bomb Museum. Visit the St. Lorenzo (Ruiz) Cathedral with 26 Martyr’s Museum and the Glover Garden. Lunch in a local transferring before transferring to Huis Ten Bosch. Proceed to hotel for check – in before we enjoy this humble Dutch park in Kyushu. Rides, flowers with the beautiful tulips and numerous shows to choose from will end our day until dinner.
Check–out after breakfast and transfer to Unzen. We visit Unzen Jigokudani Hell Valley, a field of volcanic activity with spectacular steam events, hot streams and the smell of sulphur in the air. Then, we proceed to Shimabara for a ferry ride to Kumamoto. See the Sakura No Baba Joasaien and Suizenji Garden. Free time for shopping in Shimotori & Kamitori shopping district until dinner in a local restaurant and hotel check–in.
One of our tour’s highlight will start our day as we go Strawberry-picking in Kumamoto. Next stop, is the sightseeing of Kokonoe Yume Big Suspension Bridge. Standing at 173m tall and 390m long, this bridge is the highest bridge for pedestrians in Japan with a magnificent view Then, the journey continues to Beppu. First stop is the Yufuin Floral Village. A small and cut village that will give you a smooth and relaxing stroll. Last stop is the Chinoike Jigoku, also known as the “Blood Pond” where you will see hot springs with a natural red color.
This morning, we depart Beppu and drive to Fukuoka. Enroute to visit to the Kitsuki Samurai Village and Kimono wearing experience. Lunch in a local restaurant before visit to the Dajaifu Shrine. Built over the grave of Sugawara no Michizane. According to legend, Michizane was a gifted student who composed many poems dedicated to his favorite plum trees. A visit to the Asahi Beer Factory will cap our day.
Early morning departure for a unique boat riding experience in Yanagawa where boat men sing as you sail along a creek. Lunch awaits in a local restaurant before we drive to Saga for Mifuneyama Rakuen Park and see a floral landscape at the foot of a mountain. Tonight, we have free time in Fukuoka to explore the city on our own.
After breakfast, drive to Kitakyushu for one of our tour’s highlights, the Fujien Wisteria Garden. Indulge yourself in a tunnel of hanging lavender flowers that will surely give joy to every flower and nature lover. Back to Fukuoka for an afternoon of shopping in Tenjin Underground shopping mall and Canal City. See you for dinner in a local restaurant before we call it a day.
Get a chance for some last-minute shopping as we visit Tosu Premium Outlets before we head to the airport for our flight to Manila.
