Begin our city tour of Stockholm which includes the enchanting Gamla Stan (Old Town), the vibrant City Center, the royal residencein the Royal Palace Square and the upscale district of Ostermalm. Enter the renowned City Hall and admire its splendid architecture and intricate craftsmanship. After lunch, continue exploration to the Vasa Museum to see the well preserved 17th century warship, Vasa.
After breakfast, leave the city behind and venture into the Swedish countryside. Lunch break in Karlstad where Klarelven, Sweden’s longest river, meets Vanern, the country’s largest lake. We do a short city tour before continuing to Oslo
Embark on a comprehensive tour of Norway’s capital city, Oslo. Outside visits to the Akershus Castle and the Aker Brygge Harbor, a bustling waterfront district known for its vibrant atmosphere and trendy shops. See the iconic Royal Palace, then the Oslo City Hall, an architectural masterpiece known for its stunning murals and Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Afterward, venture into the expansive Vigeland Sculpture Park, the largest sculpture Park in the world created by Gustav Vigeland. After lunch, learn about the story of Thor Heyerdahl’s epic expeditions including his famous Kon-Tiki raft voyage. And before heading back to the hotel, we visit the art world of the famous painter, Edvard Munch, and see his masterpiece, “The Scream”.
We take a morning flight to Iceland. Upon arrival, we do a tour of Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city which includes Hallgrimur’s
Cathedral, the Perlan Building, the historic Hofdi house, and encounter the Sun Voyager described as a dreamboat or an ode to the sun. Last stop is Reykjavik City Hall.
Start your day with a delicious Icelandic breakfast! Then set off to learn more of this country of ice and fire, this land of extreme contrasts and dramatic landscapes. First stop is National Park of Thingvellir to appreciate its unique geological features and learn about the ancient Icelandic parliament that once convened here. Then on to the mighty Gulfoss waterfalls, the Icelandic equivalent of Niagara Falls. Next we visit the geothermally active valley of the Haukadalur and encounter the famous Strokkur Geyser. Savor Geysir rye bread and boiled eggs cooked geothermally, paired with Icelandic butter, herring and Schnapps! Then enjoy the snow scape as we drive to the charming town of Hella where we spend the night.
Today we see the beauty of Iceland’s south coast, one of the country’s most scenic regions. Along the way we stop at the enchanting Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Then another stop at the majestic and much-photographed Skogafoss Waterfall with its impressive 60meter drop. En route all day long are magnificent views of the glaciers, the stunning Reynisfjara Black Sand coastline and striking rock formations. To enrich our understanding of the area, we visit the Skogar Museum, delving into the rich history and cultural heritage of this remarkable land. After lunch, make our way to Kirkjubaejarklaustur for overnight.
Prepare for an extraordinary day as we head to Jokulsarlon. First highlight is the Crystal Ice Cave Tour to see the mesmerizing beauty of naturally formed ice caves deep within the glacier. Hop on a 4x4 , traversing the rugged terrain to reach the glacier’s edge, allowing us to appreciate the sheer magnitude and grandeur of the glacier up close. Photo stop at the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon near Diamond Beach, where ice chunks glisten like precious gems against the black sand. Then we proceed to Selfoss. Weather permitting, we embark on a 2.5-hour drive away from the crowds and light pollution and venture off the beaten track to the best vantage points in search of the Northern Lights (Please note that the Aurora Borealis is subject to weather conditions, but rest assured, we’ll do our best to provide you with an unforgettable encounter with this natural phenomenon).
We are not to leave Iceland without experiencing the Blue Lagoon, a warm and fitting finale to a chilly journey. Immerse yourself in the mineral-rich geothermal water in the middle of a black lava field. After that, head straight to Keflavik Airport for our flight to Copenhagen, where we spend our last 2 nights.
Today marks the last day of our Nordic tour and we are to spend it in the enchanting city of Copenhagen. First stop is the
Amalienborg Palace Square - the royal residence, then on to the seat of the Danish Parliament, the Christianborg Palace Square. See the graceful Gefion Fountain on our way to Nyhavn, with its waterfront adorned with colorful buildings, quaint cafes and lively street performers. Not to be missed is the statue of the Little Mermaid, an enduring symbol of Copenhagen’s maritime heritage. Continue to City Hall Square and the Stroget Pedesterian Street. Finally, take a cruise along the picturesque canals with breathtaking views of the city’s harbor and its architectural splendors.
Free time at leisure before transferring to the airport for our flight back to Manila.
