Today we visit Giethoorn, a peaceful village in the province of Overijssel that is often referred to as the “Little Venice” of the Netherlands due to its numerous waterways and the absence of roads and cars. Its beautiful canals, picturesque wooden bridges, and farmhouses with centuries-old thatched roofs give it a unique fairy-tale vibe. Continue to Keukenhof, the world’s largest flower garden. The tulip displays in springtime are breathtaking with more than 700 different varieties!
Departure to Brugge. Discover the Grote Markt, the Belfry and Halles, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the City Hall, the Beguinage.
The thriving capital of Brussels features the Rue Royale, the Parliament Buildings, the Royal Palace and St. Michael Cathedral. Don’t leave Brussels without touching the statue of Everard t’Serclaes for good luck and say hello to the world-famous statue of the Manneken Pis.
On to Ile de la Cite, the heart of Paris! Admire the its picturesque bridges and beautiful winding streets, wonderful monuments and points of interest. The Opera, Concorde, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Pont Neuf, Trocadero, Bastille Square Modern Opera House and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Today we enter the Louvre Museum, the largest art Museum in the world and blanketed by a rich, vibrant history. It was the original King’s Palace before Louis XIV built Versailles; this magnificent structure was where he called home. Get magnificent city views from the Eiffel Tower then visit the Palais Garnier before enjoying the city on your own - shopping at the Galleries Lafayette.
Half day excursion to Giverny at the gate of Normandy. Visit the house and gardens of the great impressionist master, Claude Monet. Finally, see the sumptuous garden, its private lake covered with water lilies and surrounded by a myriad of flowers, immortalized in museums all over the world. Drive back to Paris.
Au revoir Paris, and Bonjour Dijon. Discover more about the world of Burgundian wine. Meet in a cellar to taste local cheeses and try different pairings with local wines. Learn why some cheeses pair well with wines and discover local cheeses like Brillat Savarin, Comté, and Epoisses. Don’t forget that Dijon is also the world capital of the Mustard.
Today we head to Lucerne. Cross the Chapel Bridge and walk through the remarkable preserved Old Town and immerse yourself in Swiss culture. A chance to buy the Swiss watch of your dreams. Then we travel to Interlaken for dinner and overnight.
Explore the pristine beauty of Switzerland. Take a cable car to the village of Muren, stand in that popular platform where Crash Landing on You was filmed then proceed to Grindelwald before driving back to Interlaken. Overnight.
Depart Interlaken to dreamy Lake Como, it’s known for jaw-dropping natural beauty, elegant old villas—and the scenic towns surrounding the lake.
Today we tour Como and learn about its key sights around the historic center. Take the cable car to the village of Brunate, a serene spot in the hills above Como. Gaze down at the lake, flanked by the Rhaetian Alps then back to Como for another highlight, a Lake Como boat tour. Cernobbio’s opulent Villa d’Este hotel is in sight with its grandiose façade and tropical gardens. Drive to Milan for dinner and overnight.
We are not to leave Milan without seeing the magnificent Duomo, a huge and ornate gothic structure and one of the most beautiful churches in the world. Stroll over to nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, one of the most aesthetically pleasing shopping malls on the planet. After walking through the Galleria, stop in front of La Scala, the city’s main opera house and one of the most renowned in Europe. Built in the late 18th century, La Scala has seen a who’s who of famed composers and musicians in the last 200 years. Transfer to the airport for our onward flight.
