Uncharted Georgia: A Self Drive Adventure

DAY 01 JUN 26 DEPART MANILA

DAY 02 JUN 27 ARRIVE TBILISI, GEORGIA

Welcome to Tbilisi, the vibrant capital of Georgia! We will be assisted by our guide and will travel to our hotel in the city center for check in and rest. In the early evening, enjoy a warm welcome over a traditional Georgian dinner. During the meal, the team will introduce the itinerary, go over safety instructions, and provide an overview of the exciting journey ahead. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers while enjoying local flavors and toasting to the adventure that awaits.

DAY 03 JUN 28 LOWER CAUCASUS

Start our adventure by picking up our 4x4 rental vehicles, go through a safety briefing, and receive communication devices for the convoy journey. Leaving behind the bustle of the city as we gradually enter the heart of nature. We will drive toward the ski town of Bakuriani, located along the Lower Caucasus range. On the way, we will visit Dashbashi Canyon, cross Tabatskuri Lake, and continue climbing through the mountain ridges toward Tsalka. By evening, arrival in Bakuriani for overnight stay.

DAY 04 JUN 29 QUEEN TAMAR'S CAVE CITY

Drive through magnificent forests covering large parts of the lower Caucasus. We will cross the highest mountain pass in the region and descend into the Samtskhe-Javakheti Valley. On the way toward Akhalkalaki, we will pass fertile villages alongside abandoned settlements. Here, we will visit the local market, where we can enjoy the local flavors. After that, we will continue to one of Georgia’s most impressive historical treasures: Vardzia — the magnificent cave city built in the 12th century for Queen Tamar. Walking through its tunnels, chambers, and carved spaces offers a powerful sense of ancient Georgian history. After the visit, we continue to Akhaltsikhe for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 05 JUN 30 ZEKARI PASS TO KUTASI

Enjoy a full off-roading day. Before we set out, we will visit another local market, where we will collect our fresh ingredients for our picnic lunch. We start ascending toward Zekari Pass, surrounded by spectacular scenery. A coffee/tea break and picnic will be held at an altitude of 2,300 meters. After relaxing in nature, we descend toward the resort town of Sairme, and from there, we continue comfortably by road to Kutaisi. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 06 JUL 1 HIGH CAUCASUS - SVANETI

Travel to one of the most magnificent areas in Georgia – the High Caucasus and the region of Svaneti, home to ancient glaciers and other worldly landscapes. Driving via Lentekhi, we continue toward Ushguli, accompanied by abandoned villages and dramatic mountain landscapes. There will be time for walking, scenic viewpoints, coffee stops, and a picnic in nature. As we arrive Racha River, we will have an exciting rafting experience. By afternoon, arrival in Ushguli — one of the highest permanently inhabited villages in Europe. We will explore the village on foot and reach a viewpoint overlooking Mount Shkhara (4,700 m).

DAY 07 JUL 2 ETERNAL GLACIERS AND TOWER VILLAGES

Today, we head toward the capital of Svaneti, Mestia. Enjoy a 4-hour trek to Shkhara Glacier, passing through forests, rivers, and rugged landscapes. After visiting Mestia, we leave the Svaneti Highlands and continue toward Zugdidi, with a stop for a short walk near Enguri Dam.

DAY 08 JUL 3 MARTVILI CANYON TO KUTASI

Continue into a day of breathtaking landscapes, water, and greenery. We visit Balda Canyon and Martvili Canyon, walking among streams, waterfalls, while enjoying the lush mountain surroundings. Enjoy a calm boat experience in the canyon. In the evening, arrival back in Kutaisi for dinner and overnight.

DAY 09 JUL 4 RETURN TO CAPITAL

We will board our vehicles and drive to a nearby small village for a lunch with a local family, followed by a master class in preparing either churchkhela or khachapuri, followed by a visit to a local traditional winery. Upon arrival in Tbilisi, we return the vehicles, settle into the hotel, and later enjoy a relaxing local hammam experience. In the evening, farewell dinner.

DAY 10 JUL 5 DEPART GEORGIA

Enjoy a guided city tour to Tbilisi. Lunch on your own, and free time for last minute shopping. Late check out from the hotel. On 1800H, we will transfer to the airport according to our flight schedule.

DAY 11 JUL 6 ARRIVE MANILA
